California in an attempt to curb the rise of white nationalism and the rise of far right neo Nazi white supremacy, has decided to ban and remove all American flags on any state funded High School and college. The bill will go into affect 2023. It was cited that many teachers, professors and educational directors reported the flags encouraged students to be directed towards more far right neo nazi influence. In an attempt to make all POC feel safe and not be victims of white youth fascist ideological views, which the flag has stood as the recruitment tool for far right groups targeting the youth.
The National anthem is allowed to be played but any state funded school will not be allowed to bare the flag under the anthem at any sports events. This doesn’t apply to private schools. But several liberals of Liberty groups made up of student body members from the state have suggested at the private college level to follow the state ban.
